Interview with Kim Obermeyer

What tasks and responsibilities do you have at Nemlia? 
My name is Kim, I am 22 years old, and I have been working part-time at Nemlia since March 2021 alongside my studies. I got to know the company through a research project at my university, where I investigated the potential of digital assistance systems in Germany. Since then, my primary focus at Nemlia has been in marketing, where I have taken on the responsibility for managing our social media presence. 

What personal connection do you have to the field of elderly care?
I study event management, so there is no direct connection to the field of elderly care. However sooner or later, the topic of care affects all of us, and it is important to me to work for a company that engages in socially relevant and sustainable issues. Additionally, the aspect of “accessibility” plays a significant role in events. Nemlia has helped me broaden my understanding in this regard.

What professional experiences did you gather prior to your work at Nemlia?
Before working at Nemlia, I organized summer activities for elementary school children in my community as part of the holiday program.

What excites you the most about working at Nemlia?
I am particularly excited about the team spirit at Nemlia. With the support of my colleagues in Germany, Denmark, and the Faroe Islands, I have been able to grow both professionally and personally. During my time at Nemlia, I have had the opportunity to gain insights into various areas and have been included in a wide range of activities. Being fully embraced by the company as a student was an incredibly special experience for me.

How do you spend your free time outside of work?
Besides work and studies, I love meeting up with friends. We often go to the lake, cook together, or do other fun activities. I’m also particularly proud of my small vegetable patch on the balcony.
